Saltar's Point PTA Board • 2018-2019

Some of these Chair positions entail coordinating short-term events, and others involve a year-long commitment. Whether you can work in the school or prefer behind-the-scenes involvement from home, we have positions to fit all types of volunteering personalities.

Executive Committee

President • Maria-Teresa Correll •
Oversee all PTA business and act as a liaison between Saltar's Point administration and the PTA membership.

Vice President • Angie Weedon •
Assist the PTA President as needed, including coordinating the PTA events calendar, reader board schedule, and PTA Monday events.

Treasurer • Lyndsey Stuart •
Propose annual PTA Budget, maintain bookkeeping records for PTA, record all expenses and reimbursements, and issue checks to Committees and membership as needed.

Secretary • Roberta Arif •
Keep records of PTA proceedings, including taking minutes at PTA Board meetings and PTA General Membership meetings and presenting them for approval.

Other Board Members (Voting Positions)

Fundraising Chair • 
Coordinate and implement our annual Fall Fundraising programs, and assist with other fundraising efforts throughout the school year.

Membership Chair  

Plan a membership campaign, collect and process fees, enroll members online, and send fees and forms to the Washington State PTA office.

Staff Appreciation Chair

We think the staff and teachers at Saltar's Point are the best and to show our appreciation, the PTA provides teachers and staff with monthly birthday goodies, lunches during conference weeks, and special surprises during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week in May.

Volunteer Chair  

Maintain volunteer database, provide support to committee Chairs in volunteer recruitment efforts, and work with a committee to honor and recognize these volunteers.

Website/Facebook Chair • 
Regularly update the Saltar's Point PTA's website and Facebook to enhance communication with our members and local community.


Committee Chairs  (Non-Voting Positions)

Watch D.O.G.S. Chair •

Oversee and coordinate the Saltar's Point Elem. Watch D.O.G.S. Program for the current school year.  (Dads of Great Students is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center for fathering.  There are two primary goals of the Watch D.O.G.S. program: 1. To provide male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important; 2. To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying).

Box Tops Chair

Oversee this yearly fundraising program, collection and submittal of box tops.

STEM Night Coordinator• OPEN •

Plan an evening (or evenings) with STEM related activities to encourage students in these areas. 

Publicity Chair • OPEN • 

Designs and assists in the distribution of flyers for the PTA.  Works with the PTA and school to keep families and staff up to date on current school events and information.

Sock Hop Chair• 

This position is responsible for overseeing, organizing and coordinating this special event.  The Saltar's Point annual Sock Hop is a fun-filled evening for students (and parents) as you dance to music from a live DJ, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in great crafts and games.  Get dressed in your favorite period clothing from the 50s through the 90s, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready to boogie! (Committee members are needed to make this night possible!)

Spiritwear Chair • 

Yearbook Chair • OPEN
Oversee and coordinate between the school, class photographer, yearbook printing company, and parents with photographs to create the school-year's memory.  Our yearbook just keeps getting better every year! If you attend Saltar's Point events and school activities, why not sign up to take photos of them for the yearbook? Then help people cherish the memories for a lifetime by promoting yearbook sales!

Newsletter Chair •

Collect articles and event information from PTA board members to create a monthly newsletter for the PTA. This is a great job to do from home.
